Master of Science in Global Finance (MSGF)[1] program is a one-year, part-time degree program, jointly offered by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and NYU Stern School of Business.

Overview

The Master of Science in Global Finance program (MSGF) made news[2] during the formation of the partnership between NYU's Stern School of Business and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2007. This program is first executive-format finance-specific master's degree program in the Asia-Pacific - offers professionals the opportunity to advance their knowledge and hone their skills under the guidance of internationally recognized academics.

Developed by the HKUST Business School and NYU Stern School of Business, this one-year, part-time program takes the latest insights from Wall Street and the emerging Asian markets and puts them in a global context. Graduates come away with the skills to contribute significantly to the economic development of the region, and to cope with the rapid changes underway there.

Academics

The MSGF program takes place over 1 year, which consists of 10 modules - 7 in Hong Kong, 2 in New York and 1 in Beijing.

Students receive a Master of Science issued jointly by the two universities.

Students also have access to resources at both schools and are members of each school's alumni networks.

The student profile of the recent 2010 class is made up of 45 students, whose average age is 31 and who have an average of 8 years of work experience. The students represent 19 nationalities, and work in a broad range of industries.
